Nitol-Tata National Football League
Mohammedans everywhere

It was a field day for Mohammedan family in the qualifying phase of the fourth Nitol-Tata National Football League yesterday.

The black and whites of Chua-danga stormed into the Jhenidah Zone final with a thumping 3-0 victory over Pabna Brothers Union.

After a barren first half, Musabbir put Mohammedan ahead in the 47th minute before Sabur made it 2-0 eight minutes from time. Toriqul, who scored a hattrick in his side's 5-0 victory over Jhankar Krira Chakra in the previous round, drove the final nail in the injury time.

The victory set Chuadanga up against their namesake from Jhenidah in the final tomorrow.

Away at Bagerhat, Khulna Mohammedan came from behind to beat Uttar Alekanda Boys but not before a marathon penalty shoot out (8-7) after the regulation time ended 1-1.

Alekanda Boys went ahead after 50 minutes through Ching but an 80th minute equaliser by Johnny forced the game into tiebreaker.

Khulna Mohammedan will face hosts Unmochon Club in the tomorrow's final.

While Mohammedans enjoyed a successful day, the band of Brothers had a mixed bag.

At Chandpur, Cox's Bazar Brothers Union advanced to the final beating Rampur Boys Club of Feni 3-0 in tiebreaker after the regulation time ended goalless.

The winners will take on Najirpara Krira Chakra in the zonal final.

Away at Natore, Panchagarh Brothers Union did not drop a sweat to move into the zonal final after their opponent Kheladhula Sangha of Kurigram failed to turn up.
