Police beat PSA activists

Police charged batons on the activists of Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) injuring at least seven of them on Dhaka University (DU) campus yesterday evening.Police made the attack when the activists of PSA, an alliance of left- leaning student organisations, were trying to burn an effigy of US Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld in protest at his scheduled visit to Dhaka on Saturday. The PSA will demonstrate on the campus today to protest police action.
