Ahsanullah Murder
Bar on six from leaving country

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday sent a letter to the immigration office asking its officials not to allow six more people accused of killing Awami League lawmaker Ahsanullah Master to go abroad.

Three of them are Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal leaders -- Nurul Islam Sarker, also an alleged ringleader of a drug-peddling gang operating at Tongi, Mohammad Ali and Pappu Sarker.

Three others are Bara Ratan, Amin and Salam.

Mahbub, an accused named in first information report (FIR) of the murder case, mentioned the six names in a confessional statement on May 23.

Earlier, the CID gave directive to prevent the other FIR-named accused from going abroad.

More than 20 gunmen killed Ahsanullah and Omar Faruq Ratan, a schoolboy, and injured at least five others in a hail of bullets at a meeting of Awami League's volunteer wing Shechchhasebak League at a school ground near the legislator's house on May 7.
