Army, BDR to go on guard today

With the deployment of army and BDR personnel today for maintaining peaceful atmosphere, all preparations have been completed for holding the Munshiganj-1 by-elections slated for June 6.Campaigns will stop midnight today. The ruling alliance will hold a public rally in support of BNP candidate Momin Ali in the last moment campaign. Four candidates are contesting the race, but the main battle will be fought between the BNP and the BDB candidate. The Election Commission (EC) secretariat has already sent polling materials to the constituency. According to EC decision, army was supposed to be deployed from yesterday evening.
