Cine-magazine show Amar Chhobi hits 200th episode

Cine-magazine show Amar Chhobi touches the 200th-episode milestone today. On this auspicious occasion, the subject-orientated programme has an interesting menu to offer to its audience: significant 'first events' in the history of the country's motion picture activities. Footages relevant in this regard will be shown in the show.

Having started on January 2, 2000, this can be considered as a 'complete' magazine programme on the country's once-glorious film industry. Conceived and directed by Shafiuzzaman Khan Lodi and Shamim Alam Dipen, Amar Chhobi has already earned an important place on the Channel-i's menu. The magazine show is essentially different from all previous TV shows of the kind. Not merely focusing on the 'glittering' part of the cinema world, Amar Chhobi has rather covered almost all aspects of the genre, which has resulted in a well-researched documentary of the history of the silver screen.

Starting with an interview of director AJ Mintu on its first episode, Amar Chhobi has gradually presented almost all important directors of the country. A total of 54 episodes have focused on both the mainstream and alternative film directors.

Amar Chhobi has often aired tributary episodes on senior and deceased film personalities.

Several episodes have also focused on important aspects and achievements of our film industry.

Amar Chhobi will be aired at 6.40 pm.
