Verdict in Srikanta murder case June 10

The Speedy Trial Tribunal in Chittagong will give the verdict in the sensational Srikanta Raxmit murder case on June 10. Judge M Hasan Imam fixed the date after completion of arguments by the lawyers of both sides yesterday, sources said. Srikanta Raxmit, a young computer engineer, was abducted on the night of April 19 last year and his beheaded body was recovered from Hathazari Upazila the following day. Shikha Rani Raxmit, mother of Srikanta, filed a case against eleven people with Kotwali Police Station. Detective Police submitted the charge sheet on August 12 after a four-month investigation, accusing 17 people, including AL MP Fazle Karim. The names of Fazle Karim and five others were not mentioned in the FIR. The hearing of the case began on January 20 this year and 24 prosecution witnesses, out of 48, gave their depositions.
