15 forest officials, staff suspended for corruption

Fifteen forest department officials and staffs have been suspended temporarily allegedly for corruption.The order was passed on May 26 in a letter (No. 394) issued by Chief Forest Conservator Anawarul Islam after investigation, sources at the forest department here said. The suspended persons are Birigoalini Station Officer Samsuddoha and Kobadak Station Officer Manirul Karim under Satkhira Range; Forest Ranger Abdur Rouf Talukder, Mihir Kanti Sinha and Rafiquzzaman of Banderban Forest Range; Ranger Sarafat Ali and Abul Kalam of Lama Range; Deputy Ranger Golam Mostofa, Forester Kazi Nurul Islam, forest guards Mollah Amjad Hossain, Nazimuddin and Abul Kalam Azad, boatman Enayet Hossain, Jamat Ali Shikdar and Mostafizur Rahman of Bagerhat Range in the Sundarbans and Manirul Kabir of Barisal Coastal Range.
