Ctg hockey title MSC's


Mohammedan Sporting Club emerged unbeaten champions in the CJKS-JDC First Division Hockey League when they drubbed arch-rivals Abahani Krira Chakra 5-1 at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong yesterday.

Mohammedan, who led 2-0 at the break, won all their five matches in the league.

Chandan netted two goals while Shubha, Zia and Prince scored one each for the winners. On the other hand, Shishu reduced the arrears for the vanquished one minute from time.

By virtue of the day's result, Brothers Union finished runners-up with 12 points from five games. Abahani were third with three wins in the six-team fray.

Bengal Club, Crescent Club and South Club all won one match each to collect three points each.

The prize distribution ceremony will be held today at the same venue. Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner SM Sabbir Ali will be the chief guest.
