Defence agreement with Kuwait signed
A defence agreement was signed with Kuwait in the city yesterday, says a press release.

Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdullah Masoud Abdullah and Defence Secretary KM Ehsanul Haque signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

A two-member defence team from Kuwait, comprising Col. Saud Yacoub Al-Enezi and Lt. Col Abdullah Essa Al-Selim attended the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, a number of Bangladesh Armed Forces Personnel will be deputed to the Kuwait defence ministry for cooperation in technical and vocational fields.

The agreement replaces the previous two agreements signed in1991 and1992.

The agreement will become effective from the date of signing the agreement and will remain valid for six years and is renewable for similar period unless terminated through mutual consent.
