3 PCJSS men abducted in Rangamati

An armed gang Friday abducted three activists of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) from Rangamati.

According to a PCJSS press release, 12 armed cadres of United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF), an anti-peace treaty organisation, came to Alutila village in a microbus at about 9:00pm and kidnapped Martin Chakma, Vodra Sing Chakma and Jibon Chakma at gunpoint.

Condemning the act, the PCJSS asked the local administration to free the abductees and arrest the culprits immediately.

Ataur Rhaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said they had heard the incident but none lodged any case. However, an armed forces team visited the village, he added.
