2 get 20 years' RI for keeping illegal arms

Two persons were sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) by a court here on Thursday for possessing illegal firearms.The convicts are Tarikul Islam, 30, son of Azhar Mollah of Shisa and Sariful Islam alias Hasem, 40, son of late Matiur Rahman of Kursha village in Mirpur upazila. Both were arrested with a shutter gun and two rounds of bullets from the court para area of the town on October 7, 2002, court sources told this correspondent.
