Maoist rebels battling to overthrow Nepal's monarchy have freed more than 40 policemen seized three weeks ago in a remote eastern district of the Himalayan country, a government official said on Friday. "The 41 policemen were handed over to the International Red Cross Society representative in the presence of human rights workers and journalists," a home ministry official said. They were released in a brief ceremony in the Sankhuwasabha district in the far northeast of Nepal, the official said.
