Outlaw lynched in Rupsha

An armed cadre of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) was found dead yesterday in a paddy field at Shamantashena under Rupsha upazila.

Police said Jalil Shaikh, 30, was lynched by a mob. But locals alleged that he was beaten to death by the joint forces. Police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.

When asked, the police superintendent refuted the allegation of involvement of the joint forces in the incident.

In another incident, eyes of another PBCP armed cadre, Bellal Hossain, 29, of Ramnagar under the upazila, were gouged out reportedly by angry villagers at midnight on Thursday.

He is now undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
