Hasina, accompanied by some central AL leaders and opposition lawmakers, leaves the capital at 7:00am for Barisal and over the next four days she will be visiting Patuakhali, Barguna, Jhalakathi and Pirojpore, AL sources said.

The opposition leader will address six public rallies and seven street-side gatherings during the tour.

Political quarters consider the AL chief's visit to five southern districts 'very important' as it is scheduled just ahead of the party's planned back-to-back countrywide hartals on April 7 and 8.

She is scheduled to return to the capital on April 6 afternoon.
