A gruesome murder

As we scan through the newspaper front-pages every morning, we invariably come across some common episodes -- murder, violence, corruption, injustice etc. But what we saw in the newspaper on March 29! Three of the grisliest murders in many years. Dead bodies of the missing businessman and his son were retrieved from different places in Gazipur. The killers not only took their lives but also cut the dead bodies into 200 pieces. I do not know how could a human being do such an inhumane act!

This murder clearly indicates the extent of the deterioration of law and order in which lack of penal action against lawlessness and disorder has emerged as the order of the day. Some lawmakers visited the victims' residence to convey their condolence and assured them that the killers would be arrested. But is this enough?
