Citibank-Prothom Alo joint campaign for Biswa Sahitya Kendra programme
The Citibank NA has teamed up with the Prothom Alo, a Bangla daily, in a campaign to raise funds for Biswa Sahitya Kendra's 'book reading' programme, says a press release.The main purpose of this campaign is to support the Biswa Sahitya Kendra and create enthusiasm in the community to increase the readership. The Biswa Sahitya Kendra has been working to build up an enlightened and committed future generation through its various enrichment programmes. The joint campaign of Citibank and the Prothom Alo is intended to support the Kendra's special programme on "Encourage the new generation to read world classics". Under the campaign that began yesterday, the Citibank will donate a certain amount to Biswa Sahitya Kendra against each international payment or reimbursement the bank processes on behalf of its correspondent bank clients, who use Citibank network to effect their international payments against imports and remittance abroad. Through this joint effort Citibank customers will also play a big role in motivating the young generation to acquire knowledge.
