Six of the injured -- Enayet Hossain, 22, Monsur, 23, Kuddus, 21, Ibrahim, 24, Azahar, 22, and Shamim, 30 -- were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), while others received first aid.

The injured told our DMCH correspondent that a gang of around 20 entered the Rupa Sweater Factory at East Rampura in Banasree Road in the afternoon and beat up the guard.

Divided in several groups, the gang vandalised some of the machinery and furniture in the rooms on all six floors and injured the male workers.

The attackers who belong to Rohit-group had demanded 10 sweaters from the factory owner for free last week, the injured added.

Khilgaon police could not give any detail about the incident.
