A person was slaughtered in Dhanmondi, while a transport trader was bullet-hit in crossfire in Mirpur yesterday.

Police recovered the slaughtered body of an unidentified man, 35, at Green Road in Dhanmondi at around 2:00am.

The body of the man in printed shirt and green-white lungi bore marks of several stabs. His right wrist was fully and the left wrist partly severed, the inquest report said.

A local shopkeeper said he saw five people at the killing spot at around 11:30pm and four of them later stabbed the victim, the report said.

In the other incident, Faisal Ahmed, 25, owner of several buses plying the Sadarghat-Gabtali route, went to Darus Salam Road by his motorbike at 11:00am when two local rival groups were locked in a clash.

A stray bullet hit his left leg. His friend rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
