Galacticos Gunners

Roberto Carlos has hailed Arsenal as the team to fear in Europe and insisted: "They are Galacticos!"

The Brazilian ace reckons the Gunners now have enough world-class stars throughout the team to match even Real Madrid?s razzmatazz line-up.

It takes something special to be compared to Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Raul and David Beckham -- dubbed Galacticos in Spain due to their superstar status.

But World Cup wing-back Carlos, 30, reckons the cast starring at Highbury these days deserves equal billing.

He said: "When you look at players like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, it is clear they are Galacticos. They're among the best players in the world.

"But it is not just them. Arsenal have a great team, great players and Arsene Wenger is a great manager.

"They know how to play Samba football and are one of the strongest sides."

The stylish manner of the Gunners? 3-2 Champions League triumph at Celta Vigo on Tuesday sent massive shockwaves across Europe.

And Carlos admits the heat from the red-hot Londoners is being felt even at Real's Bernabeu Stadium.

He added: "Arsenal are a dangerous team. Real have a lot of heart and we are very experienced in Europe -- but Arsenal are certainly a major threat in the competition.

"They are one of the favourites, not just for the English Premier League but also for the Champions League."

Speaking at the Madrid premiere of the latest Pepsi advert -- where he stars alongside Becks and a host of football?s biggest names in a team of gladiators -- Carlos added: "Thierry Henry and Ronaldo are pretty much on a par at the moment.

"They are both such great players and Henry certainly plays like he is Brazilian!"

The Pepsi ad will be aired in April.
