A nine-member gang kidnapped Sohag, son of Hazi Solaiman, from their family shop Alta Book Agency at Tejturibazar at around 3:00pm, sources said.

Alleged members of 'Pichchi' Hannan group was pressing Solaiman to pay Tk 5 lakh toll since last week. As he refused to pay the money, they abducted his 20 years old son, family sources said.

The gang called the victim's father in the evening and demanded the same amount as ransom they added.

Tejgaon police said they heard about the incident but could not elaborate.
