Dhaka Int'l Trade Fair opens


Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday inaugurated Dhaka International Trade Fair-2004 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city.

Participants from 17 countries including the host Bangladesh are taking part in this month-long show, jointly organised for the 10th time by the commerce ministry and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

The participating companies at the fair are showcasing a wide range of products including machinery, equipment and materials for agriculture and gardening, dairy products, chemical and allied products, cosmetics, jewelry, automobiles and electrical and electronic items. Food and groceries, gift items, handicrafts, carpets, home appliances, leather, leather goods and footwear, sports gears, sanitary wares, textile and garments, toys and stationary, watches and clocks, ceramic and melamine products and plastic products are also among some of the main attractions of this show.

The exposition will remain open to visitors from 10:00am to 9:00pm on weekdays and from 10:00am to 10:00pm on holidays. Like the previous year, the price of an entry ticket is Tk 10 for adults and Tk 5 for minors.
