Police and sources said some miscreants picked up the girl from Quazirgoli at around 11:00pm, took her to a nearby house and raped her in succession. At the time, the girl was going to their newly rented house after shifting from their old house.

The victim's brother-in-law has filed a case.

Police arrested three persons -- Manna, 30, Nurul Islam, 28, and Alamgir, 29, -- for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Sources said the incident might be a sequel to previous enmity.

Our correspondent, form Rangamati adds: A 15-year-old student of class ten was raped at a colony in Baghaichhari upazila headquarters on Friday night, police said.

The alleged rapist, Haider Ali, 22, was caught red-handed by the colony residents who handed him to police.

The girl was on a visit to her sister's residence in the colony.

No case has been filed as colony residents are trying to resolve the issue through arbitration. Haider has been asked to marry the girl, sources said.
